The Workshop on Forestry Strategic Planning in the Asia-Pacific Region was held on 3 November 2013 in Rotorua, New Zealand, in partnership with the Food and Agriculture Organization. It was held as a pre-session event of the 25th Session of the Asia-Pacific Forestry Commission.
Twenty-eight participants from fifteen economies and organizations attended the workshop, to share experience on national forestry strategic planning processes, lessons learned, and gaps and challenges. This workshop constituted one of the first key discussions that led to the creation of the Forestry Planning Network.
